“Your mental health is your health” –Jan’l Lowry
Jan’l’s collaborative approach when working with clients is to increase their autonomy in the process which allows clients to drive their treatment. Jan’l believes that therapy is not “one size fits all”, but that it is personalized to the client. Therapy builds upon strengths and resources to help clients achieve their goals. Jan’l uses a variety of approaches with a foundation in genuineness, empathy, respect, and positive regard. She is excited to walk with clients along their journey to self-discovery and change.
Jan’l graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology Mental Health from Norfolk State University. She completed her Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Argosy University Dallas Campus and is All But Dissertation (ABD) in Clinical Psychology from Texas School of Professional Psychology. Jan’l is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Texas. She has experience in a variety of therapeutic settings including individual and group settings, community counseling, outpatient, inpatient, residential treatment, and correctional facilities.
When Jan’l is not dedicating time to her work, she enjoys being an avid reader of science fiction, mystery, history, fantasy, and suspense/thriller. She loves to cook, go to museums and art galleries, and attend festivals. She is passionate about her family and friends, sports, and music. She hopes to one day learn to play the piano.
