About Nikki Easter, M.A. LPC-Intern, LCDC

After Hurricane Katrina demolished New Orleans and displaced thousands, I was inspired to learn how to help them heal the emotional and psychological trauma they experienced by becoming a counselor. I graduated from Argosy University with an M.A. in Counseling in 2012 and obtained a provisional license in 2016. My experience has been working with people of all ages using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a strength-based model to help clients change their thinking patterns. With this method, I also teach mindfulness, distress tolerance, coping skills, and anger management.

I primarily use CBT, but I am skilled in many modalities such as interpersonal, integrative, and trauma-focused. You are the expert of your experience, and I am present as a guide to assist you in the process of change, We will work collaboratively to devise a treatment plan consisting of goals for treatment to track the progression of the process.

In a perfect world, life turns out exactly the way we plan it. Sometimes, however, challenging times seem to last longer than they need to. When you feel you have exhausted resources to deal with them, it's time to reach out for help. There is hope and I am so grateful you have chosen me to assist you in changing your life.
