“We are all broken by something. We have all hurt someone and have been hurt. We all share the condition of brokenness even if our brokenness is not equivalent.” -Bryan Stevenson
I believe this statement applies to all of us. We as humans are flawed individuals who live in a flawed world, so we are going to make mistakes and face our own personal challenges. There is so much beauty and hope in our imperfections, challenges, and struggles. This is why I love counseling because it provides opportunities to gain a better understanding of ourselves, our world, and develop the skills to become stronger healthier people. I am honored when a client has the courage to share their story with me. My goal as a counselor is to the best of my ability to listen and understand my clients, to accept them unconditionally for who they are, to provide a non-judgmental, compassionate, and safe environment, to help them discover the roots of their struggles, and to work together to find ways to handle and overcome these struggles. I am proud to work with our young people and our older young people on their lifelong journeys to understand, overcome, heal, and grow as stronger and healthier people. I hope to get the honor and privilege to hear your story.
