Diane Castillo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Diane, along with her husband, Dr. Michael Castillo are co-owners of Alamo Mental Health Group. She has been in private practice in San Antonio for the past 15 years. She has extensive experience and training in the treatment of adolescents and adults; and enjoys working with couples and families. Her practice focuses on helping individuals related to mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder; anxiety and stress disorders; relationship issues, women issues, and treatment of sexual abuse. She has a special interest in eating disorders. Her treatment approach to therapy is from a family systems point of view and from a cognitive-behavioral perspective. However, her unconditional acceptance and respect for each individual allows for great flexibility in tailoring therapy to meet the patients needs.
Diane obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degree of Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. Prior to entering private practice in 1992, she worked in many different settings. She began her career as a social worker for the Texas Department of Human Services. In this setting she worked closely with families of physical and sexual abuse; and neglect. She also served in a supervisory position and worked as an adjunct professor for North Texas University and Texas Woman's University. In 1992 she began working as a psychotherapist in a psychiatric hospital setting. She provided individual and group therapy to adolescents and adult in both intensive outpatient settings and in inpatient settings. In 1995 she entered private practice with Alamo Mental Health Group. In her practice, she enjoys working with people to bring about positive change in their lives. When not devoting time to her practice, Diane enjoys spending time with her husband of 25 years and her two teenage daughters.
