About Matthew Lynx, M.D, Ph.D

Dr. Lynx is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He completed a program jointly through the University of Notre Dame and Indiana University School of Medicine, allowing him to obtain both a M.D. and a Ph.D. His research for his Ph.D. focused on the effects certain medications used in the treatment of AIDS have on the mitochondria within the cells of the heart and liver. He then moved to Dallas and attended the University of Texas Southwestern for his residency training in psychiatry.
Dr. Lynx has worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient, emergency, and inpatient psychiatry, and has several years of experience seeing patients via video conference (tele-psychiatry). He has worked with veterans through the Dallas VA Medical Center. He has experience treating the elderly and has served as the medical director for an inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit.
Dr. Lynx has years of experience treating and managing a variety of psychiatric conditions, including: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
