Michelle received her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. Since then, she has spent time working with children, families, and adults in private practice and performing intake assessments and utilization review on acute psychiatric and chemical dependency patients at a local inpatient facility. She is also an active member of the American Counseling Association.
Michelle is extremely passionate about her work. She utilizes play therapy with younger children, and other evidence based practices with older children and adults such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. Her experience includes treating depression, anxiety, sexual/physical trauma, eating disorders, divorce, adoption, grief, end-of-life transitions and other difficult family situations.
Creating a safe and judgement free space for her clients to explore their thoughts and feelings is important to Michelle. She is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their mental health goals.
