Roman Venegas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. He attended Our Lady of the Lake University where he obtained a Master’s in Social Work and Lubbock Christian University where he obtained a Bachelor of Social Work. Roman has over 15 years combined experience in the field of health human services and social work serving those with addiction, chronic and severe mental health barriers, homeless persons and families, persons with HIV and STD’s, persons of the LGBTQIA + community, veterans, and families. Roman believes in the intrinsic value, dignity, worth, fullness and truth of the human person. His treatment specialties include mood disturbances, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, crisis, stress management, relationships, illness management and recovery of persons with severe mental illness and crisis intervention.
Roman has trained and is skilled in the use of several therapies to include: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Psychosis, Cognitive Adaptation Training, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
